About Boutique Cycles

Boutique Cycles is a user submitted gallery dedicated to custom and boutique bikes. The site has been lovingly crafted by two bike enthusiasts from Sydney, Australia.

We hope Boutique Cycles will inspire you to take pride in your bike/s and ride them as often as you can. You can register to comment on the bikes in the gallery and also upload photos of your own bike.

Editors’ Choice awards are given to the best bikes submitted in their category. These awards are not granted lightly so pay attention to the details.

Most of all, we want you to enjoy this site and get on your bikes and ride safe.

Judging criteria?

So what constitutes as a Boutique Cycle? The following judging criteria are what the editors will use to decide whether a bike qualifies for the gallery. We want the finest bikes in the world to reside here so the standard is high but not unattainable.

No stock bikes allowed.

All bikes submitted to the gallery must be customised. This includes component choice, paint/decal modifications and gearing modifications.

Money can’t buy style.

Your bike does not need to be expensive or top of the line to be accepted to the gallery. If you have used a creative colour scheme or inventive use of components you may still make the cut.

Big brand names?

Mass market bike brands are acceptable if they have been totally customised. Each bike is taken on face value. It’s how you handle the whole build and take something that was initially mass market and put your mark on it.

Shoot it right.

We require good photos to use on the site so please take time to shoot your bikes properly. A great bike with poor pictures will be rejected.

Polish your whip.

Clean the bike and get it looking it’s best for the gallery. Battered and filthy bikes will not make the gallery unless there is something unique about it.

No fakes please!

Please make sure the bikes you submit are actually yours. There’s nothing cool about pimping someone elses hard graft.
