Beautiful. What is that technique of lacing up the wheels called? Is it structurally sound?

I believe it’s called Snowflake lacing.

Hot looking bike

Great colour.
nice looking shape
Interesting spoke pattern… how do they ride?

28 July 2009  at  04:46 PM

I believe they’re called ‘twisted spokes’. Should be about as strong as 3 cross spoking, just a little harder. Because of the twist in it they’re supposed to break a little easier, and if one does its gonna be terrible replacing it. (took me 5 hours to complete 1 wheel)

Thanks everyone, glad you like it

COOL SLED…Snowfllake lacing was the “thing” on MTB’s in the UK in the late 80’s looks v.trick but is a nightmare to true and replace broken spokes plus you build a hevay wheel with the x-tra long spokes…but forget that ! it looks COOL and thats all that matters…good work Kars

Kars that is a smokin bike…only thing I would change would be track bars but the rest is cranking.
