If only Kona sold this bike looking this good to start with. Nice work, the red highlights really makes the white frame stand out. Kona take note on the tasteful logo usage!

Ditto that Chris. Congrats to bpotstra.

Kona logo is absolutely dog ugly and this bike shows the company how it should be done. Kona have some real loyal fans in the US cyclocross scene but many many of these fans are doing exactly this sort of thing - taking the frame back to bare metal and starting from scratch with better matching components, paint and graphics.

It’s amazing cyclocross hasn’t taken hold in Australia - it combines the nice bits of mountain and road biking into one insanely compelling sport. Oh well, maybe with a little more time…

Hey, thanks for the comments and compliments! I’m very pleased with how my “winter project” turned out. I’ve done a few upgrades since these photos were taken and plan on still doing a few more before ‘cross season starts in Canada – I’m not sure why it says “Australia”.

Is there any way to update these photos? Since taking these shots, I’ve replaced the wheels, drivetrain, bar, stem and cables.
