The Leviathan is a prototype frame I made for myself in between customer builds. I figured I needed a new road bike and as a builder, I should make it something fantastical. Inspired by the old Cinelli lasers and the work of Koichi Yamaguchi, this one was murder to build but a blast to ride.
It is all fillet brazed steel with an alpha q carbon fork. Internal cable routing, aero head tube joint, extended downtube and the missing seat tube make it interesting.
Hey Andy,
To tell you the truth, its sort of a mix of positives and negatives. The aero head tube joint’s advantage is probably out weighed by the lack of seat tube. The seat tube blocking wind from the rear wheel is actually very helpful and thats why most modern frames have it really tucked in there.
Mostly I built this bike for fun, something to do some road rides on with friends and pay homage to the creative designs that folks like Koichi Yamaguchi and Cinelli have tried in the past. The days of wild steel time trial designs are just my favorite! Its too bad not many people are willing to put in the extra labor to make things like this anymore.

Great build, some amazing geometry…does this give any advantage/disadvantage over a more standard design?
Wow - that is stunning. Is there a place we can see a better shot of that seat cluster?
Awesome project.
