Around 9.30 on Saturday I got to Jones St, Ultimo to find the warehouse where the Sydney Bicycle Film Festival Gold Sprints were to be held. I could not see anybody around but the gate to the delivery dock was open. Kirk and his friend turned up in a taxi and we walked in and around the storage area of this warehouse for a bit. It was a little spooky that it was all open. We later found the sprints down the road a bit. Some technical drama delayed the start of the sprints but then they were off and so were the clothes. Josh, one of the co-organisers was rocking some fruit patterned lycra (someone send us a photo to put up please) and the girls from Three Point Turnz made an entrance with their bicycle bells and baskets. Thanks to Michael Prechtl for taking some photos.
The first Red Bull Road Rage event to happen in France went down on the 12th September. Frederic Moncassin a former Tour de France stage winner took part. The winding Pyrenean road looks like a cracker but traveling downhill this fast on skinnys in the wet, someone was sure to slip. Check out the video and photos.

The third Deus Bicycle Swap Meet went down yesterday. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it along due to family reasons. From what I’ve heard it was a sweet event. Luckily Matthew Mead was there to capture it. Matt is known for his motorsports photography check out his car photos here: matthewmead.net. Below is a bunch of photos Matt took at the swap meet which are also up on his flickr.
UPDATE: Deus have put up 4 galleries of images from the swap meet. Check them out here
Terrible Two’s was a hit last night, there seemed to be around 25 teams, so 50 entrants. I raced with Matt, both of us on carbon roadies. We got off to a terrible start with me getting stuck at the lights and not knowing which road he had taken further ahead. I headed for our first target which was the Australian pub in The Rocks. En Route down Elizabeth Street Matt called and we quickly regrouped and put the pedal down.
Update: Date has changed to August 15th, 2-6pm
Deus Ex Machina is hosting its third Bicycle Swap Meet on Saturday, 25th July August 15th. The best thing is it starts at 2pm — yes, in the afternoon. There is also going to be special preview from the Bicycle Film Festival. Other feature events on the day will be hosted by Le Pista Resistance and Sydney BMA.

Rapha really know how to capture the spirit of riding. This particular video clip covers the Rapha Gentlemans Race, an unsanctioned and unmarshalled event held in New Paltz, NY.
If this footage doesn’t make you want to go out and ride you shouldn’t be looking at this website!
