Bicycle Film Festival Sydney Competition

1

Do you own one of the finest custom bikes in Sydney?

Today we’re launching our quest to find the most popular custom bikes rolling around this fine city, the Bicycle Film Festival’s search for Sydney’s finest custom bikes.

How do I enter the competition?

To enter the competition you have to own a custom bicycle, which you are prepared to photograph and submit to the gallery - no submitting other people’s bikes please!

All bikes submitted to the gallery must be customised, which means you should have had a hand in either the choice of components, the paint/decal finish and/or any gearing modifications - no ‘off-the-rack’ bikes please!

Is this just another hipster-fueled fixed-gear gallery?

Absolutely not, but if you ride fixed you are, of course, welcome to enter. As long as your bike fits into one of the seven categories - fixed gear, single speed, BMX, mountain, road, exotic or hybrid - then you can be in the running to win heaps of great prizes and the accolade of owning one of Sydney’s finest custom bikes.

I’m not much of a photographer. Will any old photos do?

We want to be able to tell just how fine your bike is so we need it to be photographed in as high-resolution as you can manage. It also helps if you take shots of the custom detailing of your bike, so that people voting on it can appreciate the hard work you’ve put into your two-wheeled pride and joy.

To find out more about showing your bike off in all its glory, check out the photo tips on the http://www.boutiquecycles.com/submit/.

So how do I win?

Once your bike has been submitted other visitors to the site can view your bike and give it a rating out of five stars. It’s pretty simple - the more highly rated your bike is by the closing date of the competition (November 1st, 2009) the more likely you are to win.

We’ll be awarding prizes in each of the seven categories and your bike will only be judged against other entries in your category. We’ll also be awarding a BFF Producers’ pick, which will be a special award for the bike that the BFF organisers and a select group of their most knowledgeable friends pick.

So what can I win?

We’re working closely with some of our festival sponsors to be able to offer some really great prizes for the category winners and for the BFF Producers’ pick. We’ll be announcing the prizes up for grabs over the next two months on this blog, through our Twitter account and on our Facebook page, so stay tuned for more news.

As well as a host of great prizes we’ll also be showcasing the winning bikes from each category at our BFF BBQ on Sunday 15th November. When you enter your bike into the competition make sure that you’re prepared to have your bike on display on the Sunday if you’re one of our winners.

And of course, you also win the honour of knowing you own one of the finest custom bikes in Sydney.

What are you waiting for? Buff up your bike, start snapping and submit your bike. Oh, and don’t forget to tell all your mates to vote for your bike!
